Jessica Wallace McBride, Ph.D.

Dr. Jessica McBride is from Daytona Beach, Florida, and has an extensive background in education that spans from elementary school to post secondary. She is a graduate of Florida State University and Florida A&M University, where she earned a bachelor's degree and advanced degrees, respectively. During her tenure as an elementary school teacher, she was voted Teacher of the Year in two Florida counties, and later won several awards for excellence in her field. She has conducted workshops at state, national, and international conferences. As a college professor, Dr. Jessica taught Reading, Writing Fundamentals, Writing Composition, and many graduate Education courses. Dr. Jessica also co-founded the Imani Dance Program for Youth Development, Inc., a non-profit organization that teaches cultural self-esteem through the performing arts and deters adolescents from crime and early parenthood. She holds professional educator certificates in both Florida and Georgia.

After years of editing and proofreading books for popular indie authors, Dr. Jessica co-authored her first book, Oliver Vance, Pull Up Your Pants!, which became the foundation of The Oliver Vance Project, a character education program that teaches children and teens to have the courage to be themselves. Her second book, Almost a Statistic: The Remarkable Story of Drs. Vickie and Maurice McBride, shares the journey of this mother and son through their years of pain, abuse, and loss to become a history-making duo. Her next book will be released in 2018.
